2011 Rx Laughter Primetime Television Humanistic Writing Competition:

Awards Announcement
Winner:  Ben Frahm, MA Candidate, UCLA Theater, Film & Television Department (concentration in Screenwriting), Television Writing and Producing Program.

Thank you to everyone who submitted material. Please check our website in 2012 for submission details for our next competition.


Prizes:
1. Winner is invited to attend a closed set onstage writer's/cast runthru of primetime sitcom hit Mike & Molly, and will have a Q& A Informational interview with one of their top showrunner writers after the runthru. (Mike & Molly is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions for Warner Bros. Television and CBS.)

and

2. Winner will have a Q & A Informational interview with Playtone Productions film and television development executive & writer/producer for one of their current projects at their Los Angeles headquarters. (Playtone is founded and run by Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman).


Please note:
-Winner will be notified in August of 2011. Award to be scheduled in August or September of 2011 at a mutually - agreed upon day depending upon Production and writing schedules of "Mike & Molly" Producers and Playtone Producers/Development Executives.

-Rx Laughter will help guide the Winner beforehand for both of these events.

-Runthru and both Q & A meetings will be at a mutually agreed upon day & time, pending the production schedules of each of the above entities.

-Just a reminder that the Winner is responsible for his/her own private transportation, meals, lodging, etc (for instance, if you win but are not in the LA area). Rx Laughter does not have a budget at all for any expenses that the Winner might choose to incur.
